Reading the letters Mary sent to Reverend of Henley she begged for help and guidance.  Even in the final moments of her condemned cell stay she wrote calmly and did not give up.  Her nerves of steel are not a million miles away from an ultimate flawed heroine, Judy Garland.  From reading both their letters they are both ladies who failed to give up.
