A private peaceful tower

Magdalen College is predated by a hospital that existed on it’s ground, pre 1500’s.  Handy as opposite the grounds still stands today the oldest Botanic Garden first used as a physic garden to provide plants for medicine.  The tower in the picture of Magdalen has a peaceful history of not being used for gaoling purposes but it does overlook the route to London and has been used as a look out post in the Civil War.  On May morning the Chapel Choir sing to welcome in Spring at 5am.  Peaceful but only for a moment as the bridge is full of revellers celebrating the warmer weather!
