exit the beach

Working on my new play, a longer version of Brighton Blitz drama, ‘The Idiot’ the fun filled grey of a Winter beach has a new meaning.  Getting into the heads of war time folk sitting it out like ducks on the British coast a few facts fling into my mind.  It is grim to know these beaches were closed at 5pm July 2nd 1940.  The piers having their decking removed to prevent their use in a possible enemy invasion. Coastal dwellers must have been visibly reminded of the possibility of occupation at every turn.  Brave souls each and every one.
