I remember arriving here at Waverley station in 1992 at an incredibly young age just knowing there was an Edinburgh fringe and wanting to be part of it. At the time I was swept away with the whole experience but the Fringe Office have always offered me the best advice for the stage I am at regarding the festival and they explained the event to me in wonderful detail. I had no idea what a fringe was beyond something off the hairline that covers the face! I knew anyone could sign up to this and I was keen to sign the dotted line. This is my third attempt and I have been so lucky again in the positive experience I have had. There is much romance attached to the Fringe from success stories and tales of doom that lead to better things. It is a mammoth experience and as I hear the young girls in the queue today at the supermarket describe, the best part has been everything.
